Eileen I. Grau passed away on Saturday, November 15, 2008 at her home having attained the age of 80 years, 10 months and 1 day.

The daughter of Frank and Helen, nee Schoenborn, Klein, she was born on January 14, 1928 in Paderborn, Illinois. She married Charles Henry Grau at St. Michaels Catholic Church in Paderborn on August 16, 1949 and he preceded her in death on August 12, 2007.

Mrs. Grau was a member of St. James Catholic Church in Millstadt.

Preceding her in death besides her parents and her husband, Charles were a daughter, Mary Ann Rapp and five brothers, Theodore Klein, Richard Klein, Robert Klein, Victor Klein and Alvin Klein.

Surviving her passing are three sons, Norman (Jeannie) Grau of Chester, David (Christine) Grau of Summerfield and Edward Grau of Red Bud; two daughters, Shirley (Jim) Causey of Millstadt and Carol (Bob) Winterich of Collinsville; a son-in-law, Jim Rapp of Belleville; 14 grandchildren, Matthew (Janelle) Grau of Campbell Hill, Philip and Zachary Grau of Chester, Jennifer (Matthew) Menees of New Athens, Cheri (Brandon) Gravot of Millstadt, Jaime (Brian) Stoops of New Athens, Billy Causey of Millstadt, Kerri (J.R.) Kingsley of Prairie du Rocher, Kelly Rapp of Nakajo, Japan, Anthony Grau of Florida, Michelle (Brion) Brown and Krista Cawvey of Collinsville and Tyler and Kayla Grau of Red Bud; ten great-grandchildren, five step-grandchildren and seven step-great-grandchildren; three sisters, Betty (Lawrence) Beckerle, Cecelia (Eugene 'Utch') Toenjes and Anna Marie (John 'Jack') Crow; four sisters-in-law, Valeda Brinkmann, Margaret Schaefer, Christine Lehr and Dorothy Kunkelman; many nieces, nephews and friends.

Memorials may be made to Poor Claire Sisters, St. James Educational Fund or St. James Debt Fund and will be received at the funeral home.

Friends may call from 3:00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M. Tuesday, November 18, 2008 and from 9:00 A.M. to 9:45 A.M. Wednesday, November 19, 2008 at Creason Funeral Home, 220 West Washington Street, Millstadt. A rosary will be recited at 7:00 P.M. Tuesday at the funeral home.
A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 A.M. Wednesday, November 19, 2008 at St. James Catholisc Church, Millstadt with Rev. Marvin Volk officiating. Interment will follow at Mount Evergreen Cemetery, Millstadt.
