Dorothy C. Clifton of St. Louis entered eternal rest on Thursday, March 19, 2009 at the home of her son. She had attained the age of 73 years, 6 months and 8 days.
Born on August 31, 1935 in St. Louis, she was the daughter of Walter James and Margaret (Miller) Williams. She married William Clifton on November 23, 1951 in Clay County, Arkansas and he preceded her in death.

Mrs. Clifton was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church and the American Legion Auxiliary.

Preceding her in death besides her parents and her husband, William, were two brother George Wiliams and Billie Williams.

Surviving are her children, Mary Ann (Ronald ) Woods of Fairbanks, Alaska, Harold (Mary Jane) Clifton, Walter James (Barbara) Clifton, Ellis Charles Clifton, Clifford August Clifton and Robert Edward (Shari) Clifton, all of St. Louis; ten grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and many friends.

Friends may call on Monday, March 23, 2009 from 4:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. and on Tuesday, March 24, 2009 from 9:00 A.M. to 9:45 A.M. at Southern Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to St. Jude Childrens Research Hospital and will be received at the funeral home.

A mass of Christian burial will be on Tuesday, March 24, 2009 at 10:00 A.M. at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church. Interment will follow in Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery.
