Donna E. Pairan, nee Hollis, 85, of O’Fallon, IL, passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 24, 2024, in Shiloh, IL. Donna was born on August 24, 1939, in Chillicothe, OH to Roy and Jennie (Gatten) Hollis and her parents preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by an infant son and her uncle, Raymond Gatten.
Donna was born and raised in Chillicothe, OH. From an early age, church was very important to Donna. She began leading children’s church as a teen and continued through young adulthood. Her love of church and deep devotion to God prepared her for later becoming a pastor’s wife and serving the Lord and her church community alongside her life partner of 41 years, Rev. Lynette Matejka. Donna was known for her beautiful singing in the church choir and later as a member of the signing choir at the Well of Living Water Ministries along with her very sociable personality. She will be remembered as a compassionate, elegant, outgoing, loving woman.
Donna had many hobbies in her free time; she was an avid and talented crafter, an excellent cook who loved entertaining, and she was fascinated and curious about many aspects of the outdoor world. She loved gardening and was deeply devoted to her many pets over the years. She loved all animals and wanted to take every kitten home to her house. Donna will remain forever in the hearts of all those she touched with memories of genuine compassion, devoted service and the love of lasting friendship.
Left to cherish her memory is her beloved life partner, Rev. Lynette Matejka, her sister, Sharon Borders, nieces, nephews and special friends Rev. Dianna (Rev. Debra) Thomas-Scarlet, her church family at the Well of Living Water Ministries and countless friends she made over the years who knew and loved her.
