Donald Henry Weik of Swansea, Illinois passed away on Tuesday, April 3, 2018 at Memorial Hospital in Belleville, Illinois, having attained the age of 93 years and 20 days.
Born in Freeburg, Illinois on March 13, 1925, he was the son of Thomas and Margaret Weik, nee Willman.
Donald was a postal worker with the United States Postal Service and was a veteran of the United States Army serving in the battles of Layte and Okinawa. He received a bronze star and a purple heart.
Preceding him in death were his parents; his brother, Paul Weik and his sister, Elizabeth Mueller.
Surviving are his brother, Ralph (Alice) Weik of Belleville, Illinois, nieces, nephews and many friends.
A special thanks to Sycamore Village, Memorial Hospital, Memorial Hospital Convalescent Center and Hospice of Southern Illinois for their care.
Memorials may be made to Hospice of Southern Illinois and will be received at the funeral home.
Friends may call on Monday, April 9, 2018 from 10:00 A.M. to 11:30 A.M. at the Creason Funeral Home in Millstadt, Illinois.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, April 9, 2018 at 11:30 A.M. at the funeral home with Pastor Matt Kaiser officiating. Interment will follow in Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery in St. Louis, Missouri.
