Dennis C. Skaer

Dennis C. Skaer, 62, of Millstadt, IL, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family on Sunday February 2, 2025, in St. Louis, MO. Dennis was born on June 6, 1962, in Belleville, IL to Ernest “Ernie” and Clara Mae (Roos) Skaer and his father precedes him in death. Dennis was also preceded in death by his grandparents, Orlin and Annie Skaer and Clarence and Mary (Touchette) Roos and his uncle, Clyde Roos. 

Dennis grew up in Millstadt and attended Millstadt Community School and later Belleville West High School. He first worked at K&D Motors in Millstadt and then spent the next 40 years working for his father at Skaer Auto Body until his retirement. Dennis then worked as a valued handyman for many people, especially area seniors in recent years. In his spare time, Dennis enjoyed fishing and working on cars. He was a member of St. James Catholic Church in Millstadt. Dennis will be remembered as a loving son, brother and uncle and dear friend of many.

Left to cherish his memory is his mother, Clara Mae Hoguet and his stepfather, Don Hoguet, his brother, Michael (Debra) Skaer and his nephew, Klayton Skaer in addition to several nieces, extended family and many beloved friends.

Private burial will take place at St. Michael’s Catholic Cemetery in Paderborn, IL.
