David L. Sorensen

David Leon Sorensen, 47 of New Baden, Illinois passed away on Thursday August 27, 2020 at DePaul Hospital in Bridgeton, Missouri. Born on January 23, 1973 in Shiloh, Illinois, he was the son of Niels and Shirley Sorenson, nee Jones. David was preceded in death by his father.

Left to cherish his memory is his mother, his loving wife, Kathleen Sorensen, nee Eck of New Baden, Illinois, his brothers; Niels (Karla) Sorensen of Albers, Illinois, Richard (Barb) Sorensen of Breese, Illinois and Barry Sorensen of Colorado; his sisters; Mary (Mark) Lake of Bluford, Illinois, Cerese Smothers, Roxanne Sorensen and Laurie (Brad) Castellano of Trenton, Illinois. David is also survived by many nieces, nephews and beloved friends.

David was a former employee of Wal Mart in O'Fallon, Illinois and GDB Industries in Nashville, Illinois. David was a dear friend to many; whenever someone was in need of assistance, he was quick to lend a hand. He was very good at auto repair, he would mow your lawn or give you a lift whenever needed. He was a very good neighbor and a dear friend to many; he was a very kind and loving man. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Per his wishes, his body was cremated and services are planned for a later date.
