Clara Jeannette Baldwin, 83, of Smithton, Illinois, died at her residence on March 1, 2016.
Clara was born on January 4, 1933, in East Saint Louis, Illinois, the daughter of William and Lenora, nee Schaal, Hopkins. She married Richard Baldwin in Piggott, Arkansas, on August 5, 1950, and was at his side on March 15, 2012, when he died.
Besides her parents and husband, Clara was preceded in death by her daughter, Michele Rensing; her sisters Laura Mazeka, Elizabeth Dunning, Rose Mary Jones, Hilda Cheseldine, Margaret Little; her brothers George Hopkins and Stephen Hopkins; great grandchildren Mary Rensing and Mycheal Crawford.
She is survived by her sons, Michael (Linda) Baldwin and Martin ( Roberta) Baldwin, both of Smithton, Illinois, her grandchildren, Michael (Rebecca) Rensing Jr., of Muskegon, Michigan, Deborah (Eric) Benedick, of Smithton, Illinois, Deanna Michele Baldwin, of Belleville, Illinois, Jamie (David) Jennings, Williamsburg, Virginia, Margaret (Robert) Amato, of Annapolis, Maryland, and Richard (Fiancee, Morgan Witzke) Baldwin, of Collinsville, Illinois; great-grandchildren Tyler Baldwin, Austin Zipfel Baldwin; Abigail, Daniel, and William Benedick; Ashleigh, and Michael Rensing III; Bryce, Jacob, and Isaac Jennings, nieces, nephews, and many friends.
She was a member of the Community Bible Church of Swansea, Illinois.
Those wishing to make a memorial are asked to give the memorial to either the Southwestern Visiting Nurses Association, or Hospice of Southern Illinois.
Visitation will be from 9:00 A.M. to 11:00 A.M. on Friday, March 11, 2016, at Community Bible Church, 4940 Benchmark Centre, Swansea, Illinois.
A Memorial Service will be held at the church at 11:00 A.M. on Friday, March 11, 2016, at the church with Pastor Steve Rogier officiating. Graveside Services will be held at 12:45 P.M. on March 11, 2016, at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery.
