Cherie Denise Daniel

June 7, 1970 — July 12, 2023

     Cherie Denise Daniel, 53, of Columbia, IL, passed away surrounded by her loving family on Wednesday July 12, 2023. She was born on June 7, 1970, in Centreville, IL to Dennis D. and Jonelliene “Susie” Daniel, nee Sanders, and her father precedes her in death. She was also preceded in death by her maternal grandmother Leeta Mae Sanders and paternal grandmother Delores Daniel.


Cherie was a devoted follower of Jesus and a lifelong Christian. She grew up in Cahokia, IL went to Cahokia High School, class of 1988, and later earned her associate degree from SWIC. While attending SWIC, Cherie worked in the financial aid office, remaining with the department after graduation.


     In her spare time, Cherie loved to read the Holy Bible. She was an avid fan of YouTube videos, especially taking virtual tours. She loved watching game shows and playing word games with her sons; and was a devoted St. Louis Cardinals fan. Cherie also enjoyed going to yard sales, thrift stores and shopping local boutiques. She especially loved having picnics in the park.

Most of all, Cherie will be remembered for her devotion and unconditional love to her three sons. She was an outstanding role model and placed her children and grandchild above all else. She was also a devoted daughter, sister, aunt and grandmother. Her memory will be cherished by all who knew and loved her.


     In addition to her mother, Cherie is survived by her sons: Brandon (Ciara Christie) Khoury, Daniel Khoury and Myles Khoury; her sister Pamela (Mark) Sellers; her granddaughter Ryleigh Khoury in addition to many nieces, nephews, extended family and beloved friends.


     Graveside services will be held at Mt. Evergreen Cemetery, 2 blocks north of N. Polk Street and Washington St. in Millstadt, IL on Friday July 21, 2023, at 11:00am.


In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to Myles Khoury and mailed directly to Hoffen Funeral Home, 220 W. Washington St., Millstadt, IL 62260
