Charles Owen Miller
Charles Owen Miller of Belleville entered into eternal rest on Friday, May 15, 2009 at the Grange Nursing Home in Mascoutah having attained the age of 74 years, 6 months and 22 days.
Born on October 23, 1934 in Newport, Arkansas, he was the son of the late Jim and Eunice (Scoggins) Miller. He married Opal Dean (Harris) Miller on November 23, 1983 in St. Louis County, Missouri.
Mr. Miller was an autoworker with General Motors for 33 years, a member of Green Mount Road Church of Christ and enjoyed camping, fishing and travelling.
Preceding him in death besides his parents were his first wife, Gloria (Stephens) Miller and his brothers, Edward Miller, Clyde Miller and Bobby Miller.
Left to mourn his passing are his wife, Opal Dean; his children, Russell Miller of Collinsville and Randy (Rita) Miller of Red Bud; his step-children, William (Kathy) Ruhman of Millstadt and Lori Ruhman of Millstadt; his grandchildren, Joey Miller of Red Bud, Jessica Miller of Red Bud, Rachel (Jamie) Hawkins of Japan, Sarah (Rick) Collins of Indianapolis, Indiana and Julie Miller of Collinsville; his step-grandchildren, Ricky Ruhman of Waterloo, Zach Ruhman of Millstadt, Ashleigh Kopp of Belleville, Bobby Kopp of Belleville and Jody Ruhman of Millstadt and two great-grandchildren, Savannah Ruhman and Caleb Connell.
Friends may call on Tuesday, May 19, 2009 from 11:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M. at Creason Funeral Home in Millstadt. Memorials may be made to Green Mount Road Church of Christ or to the donors choice and will be received at the funeral home.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, May 19,2 009 at 1:00 P.M. at the funeral home with Rev. Shelton Peeley officiating. Interment will follow in Valhalla Gardens of Memory.
