Charles G. Braun of Millstadt, Illinois passed away on Thursday, January 20, 2011 at Memorial Hospital in Belleville, Illinois having attained the age of 89 years, 1 month and 21 days.
Born in Belleville, Illinois on November 29, 1921, he was the son of Charles and Katherine (Hoernis) Braun. He married Lillian Sauer on April 18, 1942 in St. Charles, Missouri and she preceded him in death.
Mr. Braun was a firefighter with the City of Belleville, a member of St. James Catholic Church in Millstadt, the Illinois Association of Retired Firefighters, St. Clair Masonic Lodge No. 24 of the Ancient Free and Accepted Masons and was a veteran of World War II having served with the United States Army Air Corps.
Preceding him in death besides his wife, Lillian, were his parents and a sister, Lillian Perez.

Left to mourn his passing are his children, Merry (Daniel) Muckensturm of Sanger, Texas, Charles (Lizabeth) Braun of Bradenton, Florida and Barbara (Gary) Feazel of Millstadt, Illinois; his brother, James (Suzanne) Braun of Long Beach, California; his grandchildren, Daniel (Laurie) Muckensturm, Scott (Amberly) Muckensturm, Ryan (Lori) Muckensturm, Bryan (Cindy) Muckensturm, Ty (Christy) Muckensturm, all of Sanger, Texas, Charles (Christine) Braun of Colorado, James Braun of Bradenton, Florida, Chad (Sarah) Feazel and Jason (Emily) Feazel, both of Millstadt, Illinois; 17 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great-grandchild, nieces, nephews and many friends.

Friends may call on Sunday, January 23, 2011 from 4:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at the Creason Funeral Home in Millstadt, Illinois. Memorials may be made to Shriners Hospital for Crippled Children or St. James Catholic Church in Millstadt.

A memorial mass will be held on Monday, January 24, 2011 at 10:30 A.M. at St. James Catholic Church in Millstadt with Monsignor Marvin Volk officiating. Interment will be private.
