Angeline Matecki, nee Kryger, 92 of Belleville, IL passed away on Wednesday March 17, 2021 at her home, surrounded by her loving family.
Angeline was an active member of St. James Catholic Church in Millstadt, IL for many years. She was a hard-working home maker, devoted wife and mother. Angeline enjoyed gardening, especially growing roses that adorned her yard and were always beautifully cared for. In her free time, she enjoyed going fishing and spending time with her friends and family. Angeline will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
Angeline is preceded in death by her dear husband, Theodore Matecki, whom she married on August 26, 1950 at St. Albert’s Catholic Church in St. Louis, MO.; her beloved son, Alan Matecki and her dear sister, Aline Frazer and brother-in-law, Bob Frazer.
Left to cherish her memory are her children: Rick (Judy Sikes) Matecki of Millstadt, IL, Brian (JoLynn) Matecki of Millstadt, IL, Jeff (Shawn) Matecki of Ashley, IL, and Eric Matecki of Belleville, IL. Her brother, Herman (Carol) Kryger of Radom, IL; her grandchildren: Andrew Matecki of Millstadt, IL, Tim Matecki of Millstadt, IL, Anthony (Michele) Matecki of Waterloo, IL, Mitchell (Emily) Matecki of Millstadt, IL, Lucas (fiancé Alexandria Kostansek) Matecki of Glen Carbon, IL, Austin Matecki of Ashley, IL and Dustin Matecki of Ashley, IL. Her great-grandchildren: Leah Matecki, Bennett Matecki, Cole Matecki, Sawyer Matecki, Harper Matecki, Chase Matecki, Jack Matecki and Presley Matecki in addition to many nieces, nephews and beloved friends.
The family would like to thank the three wonderful, caring ladies who took such loving care of Angie: JoAnn, Dorothy and Debbie.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday March 24, 2021 at St. James Catholic Church, 405 W. Madison St., Millstadt, IL from 10:00am-10:30am. Mass of Christian Burial will be held immediately following visitation at 10:30am with the Monsignor Marvin Volk officiating. Internment will take place at St. Michael’s Catholic Cemetery in Radom, Illinois.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. James Catholic Church, Millstadt, IL.
