Alfred 'Al' Dean Stern of Marissa, Illinois passed away at this home on Saturday, May 11, 2013 having attained the age of 62 years and 6 days.

Born in Sparta, Illinois on May 5, 1951, he was the son of Alfred Lawrence and Betty Deanna Stern, Nee Frieman.

Mr. Stern worked in the construction industry.

Preceding him in death were his father, Alfred Lawrence Stern; his grandparents; his brother, Anthony Stern and his sisters, Diana Bausch and Glenda Close.

Surviving are his mother, Betty Bissell; his children, Jesse James Stern, Daniel Michael (Dawn Simmons) Stern and Tracy Lynn Winters, all of Belleville, Illinois; his sisters and brothers, Starla (Roger) Anderson of Belleville, Illinois, Gary Steven Stern of Oakdale, Illinois, Ramona (Nick) Hubatchek of Marissa, Illinois, Roger Dale Stern of Oakdale, Illinois, Vincent Paul (Sarah) Stern of Red Bud, Illinois, Rita (Randy) Miller of Red Bud, Illinois, Monica (Bob) Stafford of Muskogee, Oklahoma, Tonya (David Sory) Stern of OFallon, Illinois and Margie (Marty) Boling of Oakdale, Illinois; six grandchildren, nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, special friends, Johnny and Lorraine Coke and many friends.

A memorial service will be held at a later date. The Creason Funeral Home in Millstadt, Illinois is in charge of arrangements.
