Rodney M. Holland

Rodney M. Holland, 74 of Millstadt, Illinois passed away peacefully at Mercy Hospital South in St. Louis, Missouri on Tuesday September 22, 2020. Born on December 26, 1945 in Dexter, Missouri, he was the son of Carl and Ivd Holland, nee Killin and they precede him in death. Rodney was also preceded in death by his loving wife Patricia Holland, whom he married on March 11, 1967 in St. Louis, Missouri. Others preceding Rodney in death include his brother, Thomas Holland and sister-in-law Pat Holland and in-laws Ben and Margie Wilkinson.

Left to cherish his memory are his children: Jim (Christine) Holland and Leslie (Craig) Vineyard; his sisters, Cathie (Wally) Gonzalez and Sue (Don) Street and his grandchildren; Nathan (Juana) Vineyard, Christian (Taylor) Vineyard, Natalie Vineyard, Christine Vineyard, Isabel Holland, Ben Holland and Blair Holland.

Rodney worked as a truck driver for ten years and later he worked for the city of Brentwood for 35 years. In his spare time, he enjoyed fishing, hunting and loved to tell a dirty joke. He also enjoyed playing bingo and going on trips to the casinos. His favorite meal was fried chicken. Most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his beloved grandchildren and his dog, Sparky. Rodney was a kind, loving man and will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Memorial service will be held on Saturday October 17, 2020 from 12pm-7pm at Ferd B. Lang Park in Arnold, Missouri under the Birch Shelter. Inurnment will be held at Mt. Evergreen Cemetery in Millstadt, Illinois at a later date.
