Gary Eugene Adams

Gary Eugene Adams, 76, of Millstadt, IL, passed away peacefully on Saturday March 9, 2024. He was born on January 3, 1948, in Anna, IL to Charles E. “Bud” and Doris (Fuller) Adams and his father precedes him in death.

Gary grew up in Belleville, IL and graduated from Belleville Township High School, class of 1966. He then attended Belleville Area College and SIU Edwardsville. Gary worked as a stockbroker until his retirement. He then went to work as a security guard in his later years. Gary was an avid coin collector and member of several area coin clubs. He was also a past member of the Fairview Heights Jaycees. In his spare time, Gary loved to attend live auctions with friends. He also enjoyed participating in online auctions in search of treasures. He was a talented vegetable and flower gardener. Gary will be remembered as a loving father, son, grandfather and brother.

Left to cherish is memory is his mother, Doris Adams; his children: Amy (Doug) Benisch and Michelle (George) Reiher; his sister, Sheryl (Tom) Yackamouih; his grandchildren: Charlie Benisch, Mia Benisch, Maddie Benisch and Braeden Reiher; his nephew, Justin Yackamouih and great-nephew, Radley Yackamouih in addition to his extended family and beloved friends.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday March 13, 2024, from 9:30am-11:00 am at Hoffen Funeral Home, 220 W. Washington St., Millstadt, IL. Funeral service will follow at the funeral home at 11:00am with Pastor Matt Friz, officiating. The funeral procession will then depart St. Paul United Church of Christ in Floraville, IL at 1:30pm. Internment will take place at Alto Pass Cemetery in Alto Pass, IL.

Memorial contributions in memory of Gary E. Adams may be directed to St. Paul United Church of Christ in Floraville, IL or Shriner’s Hospitals for Children.
